There are going to be moments, hell, even days, weeks…when you think WHAT AM I DOING?!
And if you find yourself at these moment, reflect back on the beginning. Think of that little spark that burned inside you to create, to make, to go forth and pursue your craft!
My little advice for this chilly Thursday morning… Remember Why You Started and Don’t Lose Sight of Where You Want to Go.

We love, love, love blues for this time of year. While is isn't the expected rich cranberry or warm brown that most people gravitate towards, we think that it blends and works very well with the traditional fall color palette. The Academia Plaid skirt and Uncommon Bloom brooch are perfect additions to that new fall wardrobe you have been shopping for. Change up your traditional fall dark manicure by using a navy blue color. So chic!  Take a look at the entire shop update down below and shop your favorite pieces here

It has been a crazy couple of months around here! New apartment, opening a brick + mortar with my fella, new dog, new hair! I seldom stop and pause to think about the days gone by. Always this sort of mad rush to go forward, to keep doing...

Today, I am being very purposeful about taking a little breather and imagining myself in these vintage photos...lots of blank space, solitary moments. Once everything settles down a bit, I do think I'll go on a mini vacation. Away for the weekend or something. And I'll TRY not to even work!

This color palette is the epitome of cool, classic, and chic (at least in my book) and I am currently in the midst of revamping my wardrobe to mostly all neutrals. One of my favorite elements of this collection are the tea length flared skirts very reminiscent of the 1950s. It's like Christian Dior's 'New Look' for the hip + happenin' of 2014. Thankfully I own plenty of vintage 1950s skirts that are very similar to these styles (because as we all know, runway fashion is muy muy expensive!)

Identifying vintage and antique fabrics, I must admit, is not one of my strongest suits. I am constantly referring back to vintage catalogs for descriptions and fabric contents of similar clothing in my shop to get an idea of fabrics. Throughout the years of selling vintage online, I have gotten a bit better. I can identify rayons, silk, poly, cotton, linen... but there's just a few out there I get really stuck on. And well, when you get into more specific fabric terminology like pique, flannelette, jaconet... I definitely turn to my sources.

It is a dream of mine one day to own an antique and vintage fabric sample book. Can you imagine my absolute glee upon discovering these scanned fabric sample books from the Met Museum?

There are so many vintage muses that we get inspiration from, but for a change we wanted to pay homage to a few of our favorite modern style crushes. This week we have chosen the ultimate cool girl, Clemence Poesy. Poesy is a french actress and model. We love her laid back off duty style for everyday and how she can effortlessly transform to a more feminine look for the red carpet. And can we please talk about her hair?! We are extremely envious of her perfectly messy locks. Take a look at a few of our favorite Clemence looks below.
